Choosing the right paint for your model

When choosing paint for your RC model you must first know what material it is made from

RC Car bodies are usually mode from Polycarbonate / Lexan - This is a type of polycarbonate plastic that is primarily referred to as Lexan.

Some of the most popular paint used in rc planes
EPO - Expanded Polyolifin
EPS - Expanded PolyStyrene. This is your basic foam
EPP - Expanded Polyproplene This is another sort of bead foam and is some of the most durable stuff out there
ELAPOR - This is Multiplex's own foam and is used in all Multiplex aircraft.
DEPRON - Fragile easily broken

Foams are best painted with acrylics if you try and paint foam with anything that includes a solvent it will melt your model

Polycarbonate requires a specialist polycarbonate lexan paint
